The Friends of Southampton Youth Orchestras (FSYO) is a charitable organisation that has supported Southampton’s youth orchestras since 1971. We provide new instruments and music, financial support for tours, residential weekends and specialist coaching — supplementing the funding from Southampton Music Services that pays for conductors and rehearsal venues. FSYO is a Registered Charity, no. 283789.
We rely entirely on volunteers and the generosity of our supporters. Membership costs just £10 per year per family, and every pound goes directly to the orchestras. Find out more on our donation page.
Committee
We have 10 trustees made up of ensemble musical directors and elected committee members. The trustees and wider committee meets every few months.
